Applied Materials is hiring a full-time Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] in Yokkaichi, Japan. The role serves as a customer liaison and installs, maintains, and upgrades semiconductor equipment while using digital analytics and basic diagnostics to troubleshoot electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. The engineer coordinates with customers, performs preventative and corrective maintenance, and may travel 10% of the time. An associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification is required, along with mechanical aptitude, diagnostic experience, communication skills, basic Microsoft Office knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. The position involves extensive physical work in clean rooms and requires appropriate personal protective equipment.
