Description
The Wastewater Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical machinery and equipment at wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and CSO facilities. The role includes troubleshooting, lubrication, minor plumbing and pipe-fitting, welding, equipment installation, painting, adjustments, carpentry, grounds upkeep, and operator duties as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, while relevant trade school education and one year of wastewater-mechanical equipment experience are preferred. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate issued by the State of Louisiana within one year of appointment.
