Montana State University is hiring a Mechanic II or Mechanic III for its Facility Services Division to service and maintain heavy equipment, vehicles, trucks, trailers, implements, campus standby generators, and other equipment. The role performs major mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, diagnostic, and maintenance work; estimates service time and cost; maintains records; and participates in fleet and equipment assessments. Mechanic II requires at least four ASE certifications and progression to ASE Master Automobile Technician status, while Mechanic III requires additional heavy-duty truck and diesel-engine certifications. The position pays $37.431 per hour for Mechanic II and $40.256 per hour for Mechanic III, includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, and is not eligible for sponsorship.
