Description
The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer develops mechanical designs for custom-engineered transformers and related electrical power equipment, including tanks, cores, clamping structures, winding assemblies, bus systems, enclosures, piping, and cooling components. The role produces 3D models, manufacturing drawings, equipment layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation; evaluates designs for manufacturability, structural integrity, accessibility, and serviceability; coordinates with electrical, project, manufacturing, customer, and supplier teams; and may lead mechanical design activities on assigned projects. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and at least five years of progressive mechanical design experience are required.
