Google is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop custom silicon solutions for its direct-to-consumer products. The role covers optical modules and sensors, form-factor enclosures, technical drawings, procurement, manufacturing and inventory optimization, first-article inspection, design of experiments, and supplier and JDM partner management from concept through high-volume production. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience, five years of consumer electronic product design and manufacturing experience, supplier and JDM experience, and CAD design and simulation experience.
