Description
The employer is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling) in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, to design and develop industrial tooling, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype models, and machine attachments across manufacturing technologies such as assembly, machining, composite layup, and additive manufacturing. The role covers tooling design, manufacturing documentation, process instructions, BOMs and routings, customer and programme meetings, capital-plan support, full-rate production, and coordination with industrial and production engineering. Candidates need manufacturing and design-process experience, CAD and CREO knowledge, GD&T understanding, Lean and Six Sigma familiarity, analytical skills, and the ability to achieve the appropriate DV security clearance.
