Description
ABB is hiring an onsite Mechanical Designer to create and maintain high-quality mechanical designs using SolidWorks for new product development, continuous improvement, and plant and production needs. The role focuses on electric motors and drives, including aluminum die castings, cast iron components, plastic injection-molded parts, and other precision mechanical elements. Responsibilities include 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, GD&T and tolerance analysis, production documentation, cross-functional collaboration, prototype support, testing, root-cause analysis, and mentoring junior designers. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an associate’s degree in mechanical design or drafting, along with the specified experience and technical qualifications.
