Description

INVIRO Engineered Systems is seeking a full-time Mechanical Designer to join their team in Ottawa, ON, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing design concepts, preparing mechanical detailed designs, production drawings, schematics, specifications, and equipment selection for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit. They will also conduct heating and cooling load calculations, work with project teams, review shop drawings, and perform general duties such as printing, plotting, scanning, and quantity take-offs. The role requires a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 4+ years of work experience in Mechanical Design with an emphasis on HVAC and Plumbing.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Required Previous Experiences: 4+ years’ work experience in Mechanical Design (HVAC & Plumbing emphasis).
Demonstrated experience working on various commercial, industrial, and/or institutional buildings.
Preferred Qualifications: Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
The ability to read piping sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
