Description
HDR is hiring a Mechanical Designer/EIT to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects, prepare HVAC and plumbing construction documents, develop BIM and CAD documentation, select mechanical equipment, and support small projects or senior-engineer-led larger projects. The role also supervises Mechanical CAD Technicians, coordinates with architectural and other engineering disciplines, and handles construction contract administration, shop drawings, RFIs, field inspections, and conflict resolution. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, strong computer skills, and Trane TRACE or similar software and equipment-selection software; Revit experience is required, while HVAC experience and sustainable-design or LEED interest are preferred. Candidates hired without an EIT certificate will be titled Mechanical Designer and expected to obtain the EIT for career progression.
