BAE Systems is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its Portsmouth Naval Base location in a hybrid working arrangement. The role sits within the Mechanical Engineering Hub in Asset Management and focuses on delivering warship technical authority services across platform systems, including design changes, technical assurance, material state and obsolescence management, specialist engineering support, investigations, impact assessments, and configuration control for naval programmes such as Type 45, Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers, Type 23s, Minehunters, Offshore Patrol Vessels, and international naval programmes. Candidates need broad knowledge of complex platform systems, familiarity with industry standards and governance frameworks like CSM and LCM, and formal mechanical engineering qualifications.
