1X is hiring a Test Fixture Design Engineer in San Carlos to design, develop, manufacture, assemble, and validate mechanical test fixtures for its humanoid robot NEO and critical subsystems. The role owns fixture development from concept through CAD, drawings, fabrication, assembly, test-cell installation, and iterative improvement, while collaborating with test, design, manufacturing, and external vendors. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, 2–4 years of experience designing mechanical test fixtures or similar custom hardware, strong CAD and engineering-drawing skills, and practical knowledge of mechanical testing and manufacturing. The position offers $150,000–$170,000 in compensation and medical, dental, and vision coverage.
