Description

Mattson Technology, Inc. is hiring a mechanical engineer to develop semiconductor equipment designs for CES, CIP, and R&D projects. The role covers mechanical concepts, feasibility studies, design reviews, engineering analysis of wafer handling, robotics, mechanisms, vacuum, temperature management, and electrostatic clamping, plus creation of CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and engineering change orders. The engineer also supports tooling, testing, manufacturing, customer and vendor communications, and project documentation using CREO/Pro-E, SAP, and related software. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of directly related experience are required; a master's or advanced degree is preferred.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; a master's degree is also listed and an advanced degree is preferred.
Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of directly related mechanical engineering experience.
Experience with semiconductor equipment technologies including robotics, mechanisms, RF, plasma, gas delivery, vacuum, temperature control, and electrostatic clamping.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Ability to design cost-effective, serviceable, and manufacturable solutions under pressure.
Comfort working in both theoretical engineering and hands-on laboratory/manufacturing environments.
Strong customer, vendor, and cross-functional communication skills.
