Description
HDR is hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer for its Michigan-based Power Generation team, supporting utility, IPP, industrial, institutional, and municipal power and energy projects. The role covers mechanical equipment and pipe sizing, equipment and piping layout, construction document development, vendor and contractor communications, technical writing, code reviews, site visits, project planning, and budget and schedule management. Preferred qualifications include industrial- and utility-scale power generation systems experience, fluid-system design, fluid-analysis software, and leadership or mentoring experience. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, prior commercial or institutional mechanical-system design experience, a recognized professional engineering license, computer experience with MS Office and Trane TRACE or similar software, and prior experience with an architectural, engineering, or engineering consulting firm. Travel is typically less than 10%.
