Description

INVIRO Engineered Systems is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Ottawa, ON, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing designs, completing load calculations, developing schematics, selecting equipment, and generating system concept reports. They will also prepare contract documents, evaluate shop drawing reviews, and manage projects from design through construction. The role requires ensuring ASHRAE and LEED compliance, directing design changes, and engaging with clients and contractors. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
Required Previous Experiences: 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
