Description

Medra is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to help build a flexible and reliable robotic automation solution for life science research. The role involves analyzing, testing, validating, and iterating mechanical systems; creating CAD designs and detailed drawings; designing, fabricating, testing, and improving hardware prototypes; and developing robotic solutions that manipulate and control biology tools. The position is 100% in-person at Medra’s San Francisco office and offers medical and dental insurance, a 401(k), relocation benefits, unlimited PTO, and weekday dinners.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Required Previous Experiences: Experience designing components, producing drawings, and building assemblies using mechanical engineering tools and production best practices
Experience designing, building, testing, and scaling hardware
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing PLM or document control systems
Mechatronics and circuit design background
Knowledge of robotics, motion control, cameras, and force/torque sensors
Experience or familiarity with robot arm manipulators
Experience with robotics in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
Experience writing code for robotics systems
