Description
Antares is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer in its Electronic Hardware team to serve as the Responsible Engineer for mechanical design and development of hardware supporting reactor electronic systems. The role covers enclosures, equipment racks, mounting hardware, cable management, structural supports, 3D CAD modeling, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, engineering calculations, thermal and environmental analysis, multidisciplinary collaboration, prototype testing, supplier engagement, and product release. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, at least two years of professional experience designing mechanical hardware for electronic systems, CAD and PDM experience, and familiarity with GD&T and manufacturing processes; a master's degree and experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, robotics, or other highly regulated industries are preferred. The position is based in Torrance, California, and may require long hours and weekends.
