The Fairfax County Park Authority is hiring a Mechanical Engineer (Engineer IV) to serve as the licensed professional mechanical engineer for the Park Operations Division. The role covers HVAC and Building Automation Systems across park facilities, including design review, system diagnostics, construction coordination, regulatory and code analysis, technical reporting, and staff training. The position requires a bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering or architectural field, four years of progressively responsible professional experience, and a valid Virginia Professional Engineer or Architect license. Preferred qualifications include extensive commercial mechanical engineering experience, building automation expertise, energy management, contract and staff management, and project design experience. A $5,000 signing bonus is available to new county employees hired in the Engineer IV position.
