Description
Spear AI is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy unmanned maritime sensor systems, including sonobuoy sensors and SONAR data systems. The role involves mechanical and functional design, maritime and submerged systems, CAD documentation, manufacturing and additive manufacturing, prototyping, troubleshooting, operational testing, and handoff to manufacturing. The engineer will mentor junior engineers and technicians and may participate in at-sea deployment, testing, and recovery operations. The position requires a mechanical engineering or naval architecture degree, at least five years of relevant experience, familiarity with mechanical engineering tools, strong prototyping and testing experience, physical ability to work on small boats at sea, and willingness to obtain a Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
