Description
The Mechanical Engineer – Debris Coordinator supports Lockheed Martin’s NGI AUR vehicle integration team by researching, designing, analyzing, and developing mechanical components and systems while embedding debris-mitigation thinking through design, verification, and sustainment. The role owns specific mechanical systems, develops engineering documentation and 3D models, participates in design and readiness reviews, collaborates with procurement, manufacturing, and test teams, and occasionally travels to supplier sites. It requires mechanical engineering fundamentals, CAD proficiency, a DoD Secret clearance, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline; aerospace structural design, debris-mitigation standards, CFD and finite-element analysis, debris-impact testing, systems-engineering tools, and technical communication are desired. The full-time salary range is $85,300 to $158,300, with medical, dental, vision, flexible work arrangements, retirement matching, paid time off, and other benefits.
