Description

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager 2 in Hardware Engineering for its Mission Systems Sector. The role oversees project execution, staffing across multiple programs, design-process improvement, internal and external collaboration, and engineering staff development. It requires relevant mechanical, manufacturing, systems, integration and test, electrical, or hardware engineering experience, people-management experience, a BS or MS degree in a relevant engineering discipline, and US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. The position is full-time and on-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, with 10% travel, and offers a base salary of $153,800 to $230,800 plus potential overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and benefits.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a similar discipline, or an MS degree in a similar discipline; experience requirements are 8 years for the BS and 6 years for the MS.
Required Previous Experiences: Relevant experience in mechanical, manufacturing, systems, integration and test, electrical, or hardware engineering.
Prior people management experience.
Experience leading, collaborating with, and building teams on complex technical projects.
Experience communicating effectively with management and individual contributors.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering circuit card assembly development.
Prior success leading and developing technical staff at discipline or IPT lead levels.
