Description
The Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical support to production departments, improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, equipment uptime, and capacity, and lead technical associates and engineers. The role covers mechanical design, machine improvements, capital equipment projects, production-line installation and testing, troubleshooting, documentation, vendor coordination, contractor supervision, and training of production personnel. It requires an associate degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or a high school diploma or GED with at least five years of relevant manufacturing experience; three years of relevant manufacturing experience is required and five or more are preferred. The position is based in Sumter, South Carolina, and may require night and weekend calls or work.
