Description
The City of Montgomery is hiring one full-time Mechanical Inspector to perform field and office inspections of commercial kitchen appliances, heating and air conditioning equipment, gas and oil piping, gas-fired and oil-fired appliances, and ventilating equipment. The inspector will enforce applicable codes and ordinances, coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, owners, and the public, and make technical inspection decisions. The role requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., five years of residential and commercial installation or inspection experience, one year of leadership experience, a valid Alabama driver’s license, and certification as a Mechanical Inspector (Commercial) within one year of employment. The position pays $23.26–$28.60 per hour and includes health, dental, life insurance, leave, holidays, and a retirement program.
