Description
The City of San Diego is recruiting Mechanical Inspector II candidates to perform mechanical and plumbing inspections of plumbing, gas, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in new and existing buildings; review construction, repair, replacement, and installation plans; check field conformance; enforce compliance with approved plans and codes; prepare reports, records, and correction notices; and assist with training. Applicants must have two years of full-time governmental-mechanical-inspection experience or meet one of four alternative education and experience combinations, obtain an ICC Mechanical or Plumbing Inspector certificate within two years, hold a California Class C driver license, and provide their own vehicle. Successful candidates are placed on a list to fill vacancies during the next six months.
