Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer for its Wauna Paper Mill team in Clatskanie, Oregon. The role leads small- to mid-sized capital and expense projects from concept through startup, commissioning, and closeout, while providing mechanical engineering expertise for rotating and fixed equipment, piping, structural, and civil systems. Responsibilities include developing scopes, specifications, designs, estimates, schedules, and proposals; solving reliability and operating challenges; coordinating with operations, maintenance, procurement, contractors, and consultants; managing budgets and change processes; conducting root-cause analysis; and mentoring cross-functional teams. Basic qualifications include manufacturing, industrial, or military project experience and experience with mechanical assets, while a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, pulp and paper experience, reliability or root-cause analysis experience, structural or civil engineering experience, and a PE license or EIT certification are preferred.
