Description
The Mechanical Technician performs preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment in power generation and water desalination plants. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, gearboxes, heat exchangers, bearings, seals, couplings, piping, and lubrication systems; supporting shutdowns, overhauls, and emergency maintenance; diagnosing mechanical faults; reading mechanical drawings and P&IDs; recording maintenance activities; and following plant safety procedures. The role requires an ITI, diploma, or technical qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, at least five years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience, and the ability to work shifts in demanding plant conditions.
