Spirit Energy is hiring a Mechanical Technician for the Barrow Gas Terminal to perform routine engineering maintenance, defect repair, investigations, commissioning, decommissioning, plant-modification support, and supervision of staff and contractors. The role is a core contract until the estimated cessation of plant production in 2028, with a 9-day fortnight, 9 hours per paid day, 33 paid holidays, and a PAYE day rate of £286. Candidates need petrochemical process operations or maintenance experience, engineering principles, health, safety, and environmental procedures knowledge, and a BTEC ONC in a mechanical discipline plus Mechanical CompEx; preferred certifications include TMJI10/TMJI19, SBT 01/02, Banksman Slinger Training, and Forklift Training.
