Description
Ecogas is hiring a permanent full-time Mechanical Technician / Fitter for its new organic waste-to-energy facility in Christchurch. The role supports installation, commissioning, and ongoing mechanical maintenance and reliability across pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, pipework, valves, and processing machinery. The technician will diagnose faults, coordinate contractors and parts, complete isolations and risk assessments, maintain records, and participate in an on-call roster. A recognised mechanical trade qualification, industrial maintenance experience, fault-finding ability, engineering-drawing literacy, safety experience, a Class 1 driver licence, and the ability to lift up to 20 kg are required; experience in processing, manufacturing, food production, waste, utilities, agriculture, or energy is useful.
