BSI is hiring a permanent, full-time Mechanical Test Engineer in Hemel Hempstead to perform mechanical-focused testing across Life Protection or Fire Suppression Systems laboratories. The role involves client visits, customer liaison and technical support, testing to standards or client requirements, maintaining traceable records, producing status and quality reports, coordinating equipment calibration, escalating testing issues, and collaborating across the supply chain. Candidates need an HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent test-environment experience, strong communication and report-writing skills, computer literacy with MS Office, teamwork, Lean knowledge, and ideally familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025. The role offers up to £30,000 plus bonus, private medical and dental insurance, training, pension, and annual leave.
