Description
The Certified Medical Assistant supports physician practice operations by preparing patients for examinations, administering injections and immunizations, performing laboratory testing, EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, vital-sign measurements, and other clinical procedures. The role also coordinates diagnostic testing and specialist appointments, schedules appointments, performs telephone triage, maintains office areas, and may support scheduling and performance-improvement activities. A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a qualified Medical Assistant course are required, with no prior experience required; one or more years of medical office or physician-office patient-care experience is preferred. Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support certification are required, and the position is eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus.
