Description
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and primary care providers by greeting clients, obtaining histories and vital signs, preparing examination rooms and equipment, administering routine diagnostic tests and immunizations, performing injections and treatments, maintaining sterile and clean work areas, entering electronic health record information, and coordinating referrals and clinic flow. The role requires a high school diploma or GED for Level I and a Medical Assisting certificate plus three years of medical assisting experience for Level II. It has no supervisory responsibilities and requires proficiency with computers and the ability to learn an EHR system.
