Description
The Medical Assistant provides general medical assistance to physicians in an office or clinical setting, including taking and recording vital signs, observing symptoms, recording histories, administering injections and medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures, maintaining medical records, handling billing and payments, scheduling appointments, answering phones, assisting patients, and maintaining a clean and stocked work area. The role works under clinical supervision of a physician and administrative supervision of a higher-grade employee, requires a high school diploma or GED, certification or non-certification as a Medical Assistant, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with pharmacology training; one year of medical office experience is preferred.
