Description
The Medical Assistant provides ambulatory medical care in a physician, nurse, and patient-support setting. Responsibilities include managing clinic patient flow, assisting patients in exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, entering results into an electronic medical record, supporting physicians during examinations and procedures, taking medical histories, performing diagnostic and screening tests, explaining procedures, calculating medication dosages, and administering medications. The role requires a high school diploma and graduation from a Medical Assistant school, current CPR/AED certification, Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain it within six months, and at least one year of prior Medical Assistant experience.
