Description
The Medical Coder leads centralized medical coding and serious adverse event (SAE) reconciliation for assigned clinical trials. The role maintains coding guidelines and SAE plans, performs accurate MedDRA and WHODrug coding, reviews coded terms and synonym lists, generates coding and SAE queries, resolves discrepancies with safety, clinical, and data management teams, documents coding decisions, and supports coding tool maintenance, UAT, dictionary versioning, and elluminate® deployments. The position requires knowledge of ICH, GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, and clinical trial methodology, along with strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills; a relevant bachelor’s degree or professional qualification is preferred, as is 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience with medical coding using WHODrug and MedDRA.
