Description
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT/CLS) at the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) performs professional laboratory testing services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Butner. This role involves conducting tests in various disciplines such as hematology, transfusion services, coagulation, urinalysis, infectious disease, serology, and chemistry. The scientist applies advanced knowledge of clinical laboratory sciences to analyze human blood, tissues, and body fluids, correlates test data with human physiology, interprets results, participates in external proficiency testing, processes referral specimens, and maintains accurate records.
