Description
The Metadata Librarian is a faculty librarian in the University Library System’s Resource Acquisitions and Discovery Department, responsible for metadata standardization, quality improvement, bulk processing, schema application, workflow development, and consultation on digital content stewardship. The role requires a master’s degree in library and information science or a relevant advanced degree, familiarity with digital library and preservation platforms, and knowledge of metadata, cataloging, controlled vocabularies, and authority control. Preferred skills include metadata policy development, batch processing, scripting, and project management. The position is open to Librarian I, II, or III ranks, offers a minimum starting salary of $60,000, includes health and wellness plans and other benefits, and is hired on an initial three-year renewable contract. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
