Description
Exponent is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for their Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will join a team conducting materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and performing materials characterization and specialized testing. This role involves hands-on failure analysis, planning and executing lab tests, conducting field inspections, and presenting findings to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering, along with strong knowledge of materials characterization techniques like metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and X-ray methods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a project team are also essential. While knowledge of failure analysis is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and cannot require visa sponsorship.
