Description

AECOM is hiring a Mid-level Environmental Planner - Transmission focus for its Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest. The hybrid role supports energy infrastructure projects, including transmission siting, routing, permitting, certificate approval, NEPA documentation, regulatory filings, due diligence, project management, client relationships, proposals, and business development. Candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree, four years of relevant experience, a valid U.S. driver's license, and U.S. citizenship; relocation is not available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography, natural resources, engineering, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: Four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in electric transmission and renewable energy, including permitting, routing, siting, critical issues analysis, land use entitlements, technical studies, or multi-disciplinary team oversight.
Preferred Qualifications: Six or more years managing or supporting state utility commission permitting and related documentation, with strong knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Experience with electric transmission and renewable energy permitting, routing, siting, critical issues analysis, land use entitlements, technical studies, and NEPA documentation.
Experience with complex transmission and renewable energy permitting programs, agency negotiation, and multi-state routing.
Experience with transmission permitting, routing, and certificate proceedings before state utility commissions and public service commissions.
Experience supporting regulatory hearings or expert witness testimony.
Project or deputy project management experience on environmental planning projects, including client interaction, schedule and budget controls, and invoicing.
Experience supporting client development, proposal preparation, and business development pursuits.
Experience managing or supporting environmental planning or permitting projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client communications.
Experience in proposal development.
Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment and managing or mentoring staff.
