BlackSea Technologies is hiring a mid-level Software Engineer for its Mainstay autonomy platform, building production-grade C++ systems for real vessels and distributed services in constrained edge environments. The role covers system interfaces, APIs, SDKs, control authority, safety arbitration, field debugging, deployment, and AI-assisted engineering. It requires 3 to 7 years of software engineering experience, strong C++ development, distributed systems, APIs, networking, and familiarity with robotics, autonomy, or uncrewed systems; experience with protocols such as MAVLink, Protobuf, DDS, CAN, serial, and TCP/IP is preferred. The position is flexible or hybrid and pays $125,000 to $150,000 annually.
