Uncommon Schools is hiring a Middle School English Language Arts teacher to teach an inclusive, culturally responsive curriculum focused on literature, writing, discourse, reading comprehension, and student-led discussion. The role includes analyzing student work and assessments, differentiating instruction, building relationships with students and families, participating in professional development and grade-level collaboration, and supporting students’ social-emotional and academic development. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree, relevant academic expertise, and preferably 1–2 years of experience impacting K–12 students in urban schools; teacher certification is not required in New Jersey but certification eligibility requirements apply. Compensation is $56,000 to $80,000, with comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
