Description
The Teacher provides high-quality instruction and support to students from preschool through the Transition Academy, depending on the department. The role plans and delivers lessons, models American Sign Language, adapts instruction to individual needs, collaborates with teachers, aides, therapists, and other specialists, and develops and implements Individualized Education Plans. Responsibilities include IEP case management, progress monitoring, social-emotional and communication development, and instruction across early childhood, elementary, middle and high school, and post-secondary transition programs. The position is full-time, FLSA-exempt, and a 10-month union role requiring a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field, Pennsylvania Department of Education certification, and ASL proficiency at Level 3 or above.
