Description
The Underground Electrician removes, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots electrical and instrumentation equipment in an underground mining environment. Responsibilities include working on substations, power distribution, switchgear, motors, controls, high-voltage cables, telecommunications, fiber-optic and wireless networks, mine radios, production drills, and related equipment. The role requires following senior electrical personnel, maintaining safety and regulatory standards, documenting work, and operating service vehicles; it also requires willingness to complete an apprenticeship and familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, soft-start systems, and basic control-circuitry.
