Monash University is seeking outstanding candidates for a fully funded, three-and-a-half-year fixed-term Monash–Bayreuth double PhD in the International Research Training Group OPTEXC, focusing on optical excitations in organic and inorganic semiconductors. The program includes a 12-month research stay at the University of Bayreuth in Germany and offers work in experimental and theoretical physics, chemistry, materials science, and related areas. Applicants should have a background in materials science, physics, or chemistry, and should be close to completing a bachelor honours or master’s degree; applicants already holding a PhD are ineligible.
