The neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) is a registered nurse with extensive clinical experience in neonatal nursing, having undergone formal education and supervised clinical training in managing sick neonates. The NNP independently assesses, diagnoses, initiates delegated medical procedures, and evaluates patient care, adhering to state nurse practice laws, institutional guidelines, and their own educational background. They operate within the mission statement and core values of Driscoll Children's Hospital.
