MCNC is hiring a mid-level Network Architect/Engineer for its Network Architecture and Management team in Durham, North Carolina. The role focuses on supporting next-generation data-network service offerings on the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN), including service development, proof-of-concept labs, pre-sales engineering, technical documentation and RFP responses, and operational support for router, switch, and optical network environments. The position is hybrid, requires at least a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive data networking experience in a service provider/ISP environment, and values hands-on experience with carrier Ethernet, MPLS-related technologies, Cisco carrier-class hardware, IOS XR/XE, Linux/Unix, scripting/network automation, and optical networking technologies.
