Description

AWS is hiring a Network Development Engineer for its Global Connectivity and Network Availability organization to design, implement, deploy, sustain, and optimize large-scale IP networks and networking software tools. The role involves network routing, interconnectivity, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, customer support, and 24x7 on-call rotation, with travel to data centers and customer sites as needed. Candidates need extensive experience with internet routing, Linux/Unix, large-scale network deployments, technical support, and network automation scripting, along with knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and networking hardware.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
4+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience
4+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale corporate networks, including physical infrastructure, hardware integration, racking, and cabling
4+ years of technical support experience or ownership of escalated customer issues
1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
4+ years developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms for IP networks and networking systems
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, IP routing, server load balancing, network security, and related networking technologies
