Description
The Network Engineer will plan, design, implement, operate, and continuously improve complex enterprise network infrastructure across the San Francisco Bay Region Network and partner institutions. The role leads wired, wireless, remote access, firewall, network management, security, capacity, performance, and integrated communications initiatives; advises management, technical teams, vendors, and campus stakeholders; and provides technical direction, documentation, risk assessments, and knowledge transfer. It is a full-time, one-year probationary position based at SFSU, with occasional travel and possible emergency work outside standard hours. Applicants need a related bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience substitutions; the advertised salary is $8,231–$10,647 per month, with medical, dental, vision, pension, 401k, and other benefits.
