Description

Engenious Design is hiring a full-time NPI Manager in the Kansas City metro area to oversee in-house prototype and manufacturing builds for medical devices and other technology systems. The role manages design-to-production handoffs, prototype and pilot production, manufacturing setup at contract manufacturers, tooling, equipment, inventory, production planning, quality systems, supplier relationships, and the day-to-day activities of skilled teams. The position requires direct team leadership, design-transfer experience, project estimation, supplier management, and a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree in a relevant engineering background, such as Manufacturing, Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software, or equivalent experience
Required Previous Experiences: At least 3 years of experience directly managing a team in an NPI, prototype, or manufacturing environment
At least 2 years of experience leading design transfer to contract manufacturers and establishing manufacturing processes and production lines
Experience partnering with design engineers on manufacturability, tolerancing, and assembly feedback during product development
At least 2 years of experience estimating and managing project work for schedule and budget
Experience managing supplier relationships, including supplier quality agreements and corrective actions
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with lean processes or equivalent continuous improvement methods
Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Working knowledge of FDA and ISO quality system requirements, including design controls and audit readiness
Experience with electro-mechanical or electronics assembly for medical devices
