Description
The Gulf Coast Transit District is hiring a part-time Non-CDL Operator to safely operate public transit vehicles and provide passenger service throughout Galveston County. The role involves route and schedule compliance, passenger boarding and assistance, vehicle inspections, fare collection, incident reporting, documentation, customer service, and communication with dispatch. The position is non-exempt, reports to the Transportation Manager, and may require up to 29 hours per week on a variable schedule including mornings, evenings, split shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins. A valid Texas driver license, acceptable driving record, current DOT medical certificate, and ability to pass background, drug, alcohol, and driving-record requirements are required; previous public transportation or customer-service experience and CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
