Description
General Matter is hiring a Nuclear Design Basis Engineer to define and maintain the engineering design criteria and design basis for the facility's systems, structures, and components. The role translates safety functions, regulatory requirements, codes, and standards into defensible design criteria, establishes natural-phenomena and external-event hazard criteria, reviews designs for conformance, coordinates with safety and structural teams, and maintains configuration control and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, strong engineering fundamentals, and experience with regulated or safety-critical facilities; nuclear, DOE, national-lab, or NRC-licensed facility experience is preferred. The base salary is $150,000–$210,000 annually, with potential long-term incentives and medical, vision, and dental coverage.
