Unity Health Care is hiring a PRN Nurse Practitioner – DOC to provide culturally competent, patient-centered healthcare in a correctional setting. The role evaluates, diagnoses, and treats physical and behavioral health conditions; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; prescribes medications; manages chronic disease; provides preventive care and education; refers patients; maintains clinical documentation; and collaborates with the care team. The position requires an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, a Washington, DC license, DC Controlled Substance Registration, DEA registration, and applicable board certification or eligibility, with evening and weekend coverage as needed.
